the problem to this question is the timing chain hittin the valve cover, meaning the tensioner is broke. another reason is the intake cams is hitting into the top end. That means that the camshaft are bouncing up down and needs to be replaced.
State your noise.
The ticking noise - is their 'radar' - bat's calls are just about audible at the top end of human hearing. Some people can hear them without an artificial bat 'locator'.
If you hear it only at idle and sounds faint, it is your rocker shaft. They wear on the end and makes a slight ticking noise. Mine has done it for over 100k miles and no problems. I hope you have done reg maint and kept oil changed.
By the flywheel/flexplate-just follow pos batt cable to the very end
Follow the top radiator hose back to the engine, the part that is at the end of the hose (engine side) is the thermostat.
At the end that's closest to the engine of the bottom hose of the radiator, it should be just under the cover that looks like a bell.
Possibly the sway bar bushings?
It depends on when you hear that noise. If it happens when you are driving on not a good road then you just need to tighten the strut nuts. It helped in my case.
its on the left turn signal switch, at the end is the headlights, then one in is the fog lights, you twist it just like you would the headlights
in the engine compartment hahaha no just kidding idk where in the engine compartment tho usually in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
1. It tells you that you are much closer to the end of your life. 2. It tells you that your much closer to something scary. e.g. a meeting or exam. 3. The ticking noise is quite nerve-racking.
What you hear is lifter noise, its pretty normal. At start up there is no oil in the top end of the engine so the unlubricated valve system will make noise until the oil can reach it. The valves may or may not need adjusting, Hydraulic lifters require oil pressure to take up the slack and if the noise does not persist after oil pressure is obtained then most likely not. Some oil treatment and more frequent oil changes may make the tick stop completely.
