Changing the starter in a 1995 Plymouth Voyager can be moderately challenging, especially for someone without mechanical experience. It typically requires accessing tight spaces and may involve removing other components to reach the starter. Basic tools are needed, and following a repair manual can help, but it may take a few hours for someone unfamiliar with the process. Overall, it's doable for a DIY enthusiast with some patience and the right tools.

A torque wrench is also recommended for reinstallation to ensure proper torque specifications. Additionally, a flathead screwdriver may be helpful for disconnecting any wiring clips. It's also advisable to have safety glasses and gloves for protection.

The 96 Voyager came with a 4 or 6 cylinder engine, either way you can replace the cat two ways. You can purchase a bolt in replacement or you can purchase a weld in replacement from your local auto parts store. The bolt in assembly is more costly but you can DIY at home if you're handy and have the tools. The weld in cat cost less but you need welding equipment.
