Put a new bulb in the side that isn't working.
Probably a faulty brake light switch or the brake light switch is installed incorrectly.
The first check would be the fuse for the dash lights. If the dash lights are out too then it is likely to be the fuse.
Unfortunately, no. In order to get them to fit you have to replace the tail panel. It's a completely different design.
First check the fuse. If it is good, look under the dash and find the brake light switch. It will be mounted on the brake pedal lever or may be mounted so the brake pedal lever contacts it. It is adjustable and may just need adjusting. It the adjustment is correct, then replace it.
try brake switch under pedal

Make sure brake fluid in the master cylinder is at the proper level Make sure parking brake is fully released and switch is working
The switch is located at the top of the steering column near the brake pedal. There is a bracket attached to the brake pedal that contacts and opens the switch when the brake is not being applied. Push on the brake the switch closes, and the lights come on. Look up the switch on Autozone.com or equivalent to see what it looks like. It's very hard to spot where it's at. Good luck Answer i believe there is a switch on the brake pedal lever near the top. I will go look on my jeep when I go back outside. Also, the brake light circuit has its own fuse separate from the signal lights.
