of transmission and final drive: 5.3 U.S. pints (4.4 Imp. pints, 2.5 liters) Refill quantity 4.2 U.S. pints (3.5 Imp. pints, 2 liters)

If memory serves me right it is the low oil pressure light.
There should be a fill plug somewhere on the side of the transaxle.
It depends on if it is a manual transaxle or an automatic transaxle. If it is a manual transaxle, you can use any SG-rated 5W30 motor oil. If it is an automatic transaxle, then you need DEXRON II Automatic Transmission Fluid.
It can depend on the make and model of the transaxle. But, typically they use a 20W50 motol oil in the transaxle.
Villagers have a tranaxle and do not use "gear oil". The transaxle uses Ford type Mercon or Mercon V fluid, as much as you need to fill it. If you've drained the pan it will take at least 4 quarts to refill, maybe more.
