It depends on if it is a manual transaxle or an automatic transaxle. If it is a manual transaxle, you can use any SG-rated 5W30 motor oil. If it is an automatic transaxle, then you need DEXRON II Automatic Transmission Fluid.
how do you take out a transmission on a 1990 Honda accord
Can you change a automatic to a 5 speed Honda Accord 1990
No it will not interchange. You need an Accord transmission from a 1990-1993.
No it does not.

no u cannot do that bolt pattern is different
Manual transmission vehicles have no transmission filter.
Automatic is directly under the upper hose near the cylinder head it should be yellow handled
Please see and earlier question and answer re: Where is the transmission dipstick on 1990 Honda Accord LX. It may answer your question. By the way, answer is: The dipstick is located at front of transmission, next to the engine block. There is NO TUBE and the dipstick is small - look crefully! Hank.
If your Honda has a manual transmission then it requires SAE 10w-30 motor oil, preferably synthetic. If it is an automatic then it requires genuine Honda ATF DW-1 and nothing else.
If the Prelude is an automatic, yes, you use automatic transmission fluid. If it's a manual, there's manual transmission fluid. As much as possible, purchase the manufacturer (Honda) branded transmission fluid.
The dipstick is on the left side of the engine it's all the way down youhave to reach just below the airfilter cables
