A couple of ways, and it would depend on the ages of the computer, the amount of data and your own ability!

The easiest is probably a USB pen drive. Sometimes called a USB stick or thumb drive, they are small gadgets which can be purchased pretty much anywhere these days and only cost a few pounds/dollars.

If you've got Windows 98 or later you can probably just plug the USB stick into your old computer, Windows will display it as a new disk drive then you can drag-and-drop your files onto the disk drive. When you're done remove the USB device (remembering to "Safely remove hardware" from the icon in the system tray) and plug it into your new computer. Again, a disk drive will appear and you can drag-and-drop from the USB drive to to your Desktop or wherever.

On a mac, same physical process, but the device will appear as a mounted device on your desktop.

If USB ports are a problem, you could try burning your data onto a CD and transferring it that way.

Two other options: a small home network, (Get Googling!) or remove the hard disk drive from your old machine and physically attach it to your new one. You'll be able to drag-and-drop between the two drives.

A lot of options really... like I say: how much data and what hardware do you have available.

How to transfer itunes songs to a different PC?

First, one has to move his or her iTunes files onto another PC by emailing them, putting them on a USB stick, or putting them on a portable hard drive. Once the files are on another computer one will need to authorize that computer with the iTunes store account that purchased the original songs. Also, it would be wise to deauthorize the old computer because each account only has a limited number of allowed authorized computers. With the new computer authorized simply import the files and they can be played on the new PC.Alternative solution to transfer iTunes to a new PC using free Tuneswift:http://transfer-itunes-to-new-pc.blogspot.com/

You want to buy a new computer but you have excel files you need to transfer and your D drive doesn't work so how do you do it?

A easy way would be to pop down to your local electronics store and purchase a USB thumb drive. 4GB would be a good size at a low price. This will allow you to transfer your files off of the old computer and then load them on the new computer. Just check your old PC and make sure that it has USB ports. Failing that you could email them to yourself. If you have to do it this way, please make sure that you get them to the new computer before you delete them off of the old one! Verify their integrity by opening them with the new PC.
