By changing direction. Acceleration is a change in velocity. Since velocity takes direction into account, while speed does not, an object can having a changing velocity even while its speed remains the same. And while that object is changing its velocity by changing its direction, it is accelerating, regardless of its speed remaining constant. For example, if a car is driving north at constant speed of 20mph, its speed is 20mph, while its velocity is…
Do manual transmission cars get better gas mileage when driven at low speeds in a high gear or a low gear?
Not sure when you say low speed. Not knowing what your driveline ratio is I will just use some basic numbers .If 20 MPH is your speed and you were in first gear your engine RPM's would be 3000, if you were in second gear at 20MPH your engine RPM's would be 2500 , if you were in third gear at 20MPH your engine RPM's would be 2000. A difference of 1000 RPM's from low…
What could cause a whirring noise from the underside of a 97 sebring conv that only occurs over 20mph i first thought transmission but it continues even when i put the car into neutral at 20?
Individuals have transmission issue on a rodeo Isuzu 2002 v6 4door what could it be the gear doesn't want to go above the 20mph the rpm just continues but vehicle will not move above 20mph?
First thing is add/ check trans fluid. No dip stick, there is two drain plugs on trans oil pan. Get a squirt hand pump oil can and hose and pump fluid into upper plug hole with engine running till over flowing then shut off and put plug back in after it stops dripping. See if that fixs it before you put big money into to it.
Why does your Chevy c10 not pick up speed carb has been rebuilt but it still won't go faster than 20mph?
Yes in a form. It can not be literaly -20mph but in deceleration it is. when you slow down a car to a stop that is negative volocity. and volacity is speed+direction. ex: 30mph east. so if your travaling 20mph west then slow to a stop it changes to -20mph west. (until you start going east) but because volacity is a messure of speed then yes it is possible. but not like when approching the…
