In an unprecedented display of brawn over brains, one of our very own has reached a very BIG birthday. Our very own Len Shelby is 56 years old today! Some call him "dad." Others call him "coach." And still others, "Hairy Ones." Known for early morning coffee farts (why do you think every one of your son's hair is thinning!?) and his love of bubble baths, Len is a legend in his own time. Who can forget his monstrous home runs in batting practice, his super human strength in his hands (when you were in trouble and he grabbed you, you knew you were in for it!) or his boisterous and infectious laughter? All who have know him have loved him. Hands down. Without a doubt. And such.

When asked for a comment about his dad, his "wee" youngest son, Kevie-Nuevie replied, "My dad is the strongest dad ever! He could beat your dad up!" When told his dad was, in fact, my dad, Kevie responded, "Shut up! I'm tellin', and the like."

His woman, "Trinity", had this to say about him, "Len is sooo strong. He rocks my world. I'd like to download him." The only reply I could muster was, "EEEWWWWW, and so forth!"

His daughter-in-law Jill had this to say, "Len is great, but..." When pressed on her comment Jill replied, "He's a cheater, all right!? He cheated us last Christmas during our game. He better watch out this year! Put that in your book, Fil, and the like!"

The quotes could go on and on with people piling on, wishing Len a happy birthday, telling him what he means to them. Without a doubt, Len has made our lives better for knowing him and being loved by him. He is a wonderful husband and tremendous father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He loves our God and has been a conduit of his love and grace for our family. We know God because our dad knows God. And that is what true legends are made of.

Happy birthday, dad. You are an inspiration and encouragement to us all. We love you, and so forth, and such, and the like!
