Most of the banks use tailored software (software programmed to do a specific task)as tailored software are faster and easier to handle in comparison to packaged softwares (MS Offices) the most common use of computer in bank are
- record of financial transactions through out all the branches of bank(for example when you use ATM (automatic teller machine) the transaction you made is first recorded in the machine very itself and then a backup of the transaction is send to the main PC linked to the machine so that if any problem occurs with the machine the balance amount and transactions are recorded

- ease of access to cash (credit card, debit card)

∙ 15y agoAs long as you are using a secure computer there are many benefits. 1) manage ur account without leaving your home 2) balance transfers 3) set up direct debits/Standing orders or just generally pay bills 4) order new cards 5)set up savings accounts 6) increase/decrease overdraft Basically most things you would need to go to a bank for, but would much rather stay at home. Especially if its bad weather!!! :-)
