Synthetic elements are mostly produced by neutron capture. This is different from decay, fission, or fusion, but is more like fusion. In neutron capture, a free neutron is captured by the nucleus of an atom, producing a new isotope. The new isotope is likely to have too many neutrons, because it was a neutron that it captured. With too many neutrons, it wants to undergo decay by converting a neutron into a proton, and emitting a negative beta particle. This does not alter the mass number, but it does increase the number of protons in the atom by one, and so it increases the atomic number by one. For example, an atom of 237Np captures a neutron and becomes 238Np, which decays by negative beta decay to become 238Pu.
Some synthetic elements are produced by fusion.
I've never actually studies physics at A-level or degree level, but I'm pretty sure this is an example of nuclear fusion. Physicists; please correct me if I'm wrong!
Uranium is a radioactive substance. Nuclear power production is carried out by the energy supplied by nuclear reactors. Nuclear reactors control the energy emission by nuclear fission reaction in radioactive substance when bombarded by neutrons.
Zinc itself is a chemical element and can not be made from any other element, except by nuclear reaction. The subatomic particles in zinc are protons, electrons, and neutrons.

Lawrencium: lawrencium is a synthetic "rare earth metal" which does not ... nuclear spins; and nuclear magnetic.
Nuclear Fusion.

Plutonium
Only in a nuclear reaction, otherwise no.
Balls
transmutation - same as the alchemists called it.
When an element undergoes nuclear transmutation the result is a completely different element or isotope. All transmutation occurs through decay or nuclear reaction.
nuclear fusion
Synthetic elements are usually radioactive, but not necessarily so. It is conceivable for a non-radioactive neutral atom to be produced by a nuclear spallation reaction.
