1GB refers to 2^20 bytes (2^20 is 1,048,576, it started with Kilobyte 2^10 (1024) bytes. 20 or 30 GB is usually a disk drive, which may have an odd number of 1KB tracks.

Sometimes the advertising people play tricks with this, for example 2^16 is 2^10*2^6 (1024*64), so in computer use that should be 64K but the actual number is 65536, the advertisers may say 65K (using K as 1000 instead of the binary 1024), or even round it to 66K.

Is kilobytes a lot on your computer?

Not really, although in the early days of computing, you could do a lot with small amounts of memory. For example, the Sinclair Spectrum computer had 48kb of internal memory, which enabled it to do some pretty complex stuff (yes - I had one !) These days, computer memory is usually measured in Megabytes or Gigabytes - due to the advances in the amount of information computer chips can hold.

Why is consulting the motherboard documentation so important when purchasing memory?

Because it shows the right ways to dispose memory.Answer 2:Because there are different memory standards that system board manufactures use within the products. The documentation for your system board should show what type, capacity, & installation configuration will work properly in your computer. If you didn't have such information, you could buy memory that physically fits into your computer, but it won't be recognized by your computer--which makes it useless & a waste of your $. Installing the wrong memory could in some cases damage the new memory.

Do you have to download your phone's software onto your computer so that you can get songs off your computer?

If you have a phone memory card, you are good to go. Have the memory card ready and put the memory card into an SD card adapter then put the SD Card into the SD-Computer Adapter. SD card will now be storing your music in your memory card. Put the memory card back into your phone and you have music. The songs could not be set as you ring tone (I think).
