that's just what I am guessing since it is very flammable, and could be used to kill insects if certain substances were added to it. As for rubber tires it could be added to another substance too and could make a rubbery material such as these tires. Although I am unsure, I am pretty sure it is sulfur or something related to sulfur in this case.
