On the drivers door handle, there is a normal door lock which is hidden under a cover/housing. The cover is lifted/prised off by inserting the door key in the slot on the underside of the cover ( or you can use a knife/screwdriver)

Where is the gas cap release latch on a 1991 BMW 325I?

The fuel door release is electric and is the same device as that used for the vehicle door locks. When you unlock the doors the fuel door unlocks as well. The locking mechanism is mounted above the battery on the passenger side of the trunk behind the carpeting above the battery's plastic cover. If for some reason the latch fails you can open it by hand.

How do you open hood and trunk no battery?

You can unlock the doors manually if you turn the key far enough. You can then open the hood and provide power to the vehicle with jumper cables and a donor car. If all else fails you can jack the vehicle up, support it on a jack-stand, and attach a red jumper cable to the starter positive red cable where it connects to the starter and then attach black cable to any metal place on the engine. You can use this procedure to charge the battery with either a battery charger for jumper cables from a donor vehicle.

Will a voltage regulator kill a battery?

Two things can happen. 1. the voltage regulator fails so that the alternator doesn't know the battery charge is dropping therefore the battery doesn't get charged. 2. The voltage regulator fails in such a way as to allow the alternator to overcharge the battery which causes the battery to overheat and fail, Sometimes an overcharged battery can explode.

How do you open the boot on a 2003 BMW 325 when battery is dead?

Connect your car, like you would for jump starting and then use the boot release button on your key fob to unlock and release the boot. Happened to me on my 2000 325xi and this worked.
