alarm is falty get it removed only bad part is the doors lock dont go down with the remote
It can not be disabled. It is reset by unlocking the van with the remote.
You reset the factory alarm by unlocking the doors with a key or remote.
Unlock the door with the key or the remote.
I looked up the owner's manual - I also have a 2001 Chevy Astro Van, and there is a setting called resyncronization. If you hold both buttons down, the lock and unlock, for 8 seconds, it will recycle the alarm and synchronize it to the key fob remote. When the alarm goes off, just hit unlock twice like you normally would, and it should be fixed.
I may be wrong but it sounds like your alarm is the problem. This happened to my brother's van(Astro). The built-in cutoff switch in his alarm was preventing the van from starting. It may be possible to disconnect the alarm system and try to start it. That's what my brother did and it worked.
No. The factory alarm is reset with the remote or by turning the key in the door locks.
Hit the unlock button on your Remote unlocking thing ( Don't know the proper name, but it's The little device that attaches to your key ring and lets you lock and unlock the van remotely), then put the ignition key in the engine and turn to the Start position. The alarm SHOULD stop, but sometimes It takes a couple tries.
Check the battery in the remote, if it is still good then get out the owners manual and read up on how to reprogram your remote because it may have unlearned the frequency for your van
You can try to turn the key left and then turn back to right for disable the alarm
