No, it happened in 1773 and it isn't until 3 years later that independence was declared. It was a factor, but not the major event we think today. Actually, the tea party was organized because the cost of tea was lowered through lowering taxes instead of raising them. The truth is the smugglers were upset that because the tea tax was lowered the Dutch tea was higher in cost than the English and this cost them business. One of the biggest smugglers was Hamilton and the story of men dressed as Native Americans is not true. The disrespect of the king and the other things he did is what tipped the balance towards independence. People like Madison and Jefferson were true revolutionaries and kept pushing for action. Jefferson believed in world wide revolution.

Yes, the Boston Tea Party was a major political event in the growth of the American Revolution. It symbolized the colonists' frustration with British taxation and their desire for representation in British decision-making. The event sparked further resistance and solidarity among the colonists, ultimately leading to the Revolutionary War.

Was population growth a major cause of the American Revolution?

Population growth could be argued to be a cause of the American Revolution. This upset colonists, and could be a reason why they wanted to cut their connection to Britain
