Some would say his expedition was successful. It depends your talking to. It's not fair to even give him credit for discovering America because he didn't, Amerigo Vespucci did and named the New World after himself. Christopher Columbus landed on some island in the Carribean Sea (I'm not sure exactly where.) I would say that his expedition was successful because he wasn't out looking for America, he was trying to prove that the Earth wasn't flat, and he did do that.

Amerigo Vespucci didn't name it after himself Ferdinand maggelan named it after Vespucci so your answer was so false think a little .
