They were naked before they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Once they ate from the tree they became aware of evil therefore they became aware that they were not clothed and hid.
From the moment of their creation, both Adam AND Eve were naked for some time (Genesis 2:25). It wasn't until after they'd sinned that they 'began to realize they were naked' and made clothing for themselves out of fig leaves (Genesis 3:6+7).
