Many parts of Georgia sustained complete destruction with the fall of the Confederacy. Many beautiful and historic buildings were burned to the ground, railroad tracks were ripped up to prevent supplies from reaching Confederate troops. Businesses were destroyed as were families and friendships. War is hell.
