A:Living almost 3000 years ago, King Solomon could not have been an African-American; more importantly, he was not African. He was a Hebrew, son of King David, and of West Semitic ethnic origin. Semitic people, such as Arabs and Sephardic Jews, have fairly light brown skin and high noses, quite unlike the features of Africans.

The following verses are based on legend, but at least they do say that Solomon was believed to have been a son of David (Chronicles 3:1-5):

"Now these were the sons of David, which were born unto him in Hebron; the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess: The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith: The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife. These six were born unto him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years. And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bath-shua the daughter of Ammiel: "

Even if the above tradition is not strictly historical, there can be no doubt that the Hebrews only accepted another Hebrew as their king.
