Yes, but it depends on what you really mean by toleration (tolerance).

The Prussian Emancipation Edict of 1812:

  1. Abolished discriminatory taxes on Jews. (They no longer had to pay for permission to reside in Prussia and taxes on Jewish marriages were abolished).
  2. They were allowed to own property (houses, farms, etc) without having to apply to the government for special permission to do so - something that had hitherto only been granted in exceptional circumstances and had to be paid for.
  3. They were allowed to be elected to city councils and provinical diets.
  4. They were granted citizenship (but that did not mean full equality).
  5. There were allowed to attend univeristy without having to apply to the government for special permission to do so.

They were not allowed to:

  1. Become civil servants.
  2. Become army officers.
