No, Thomas Edison was a poor, poor man.
He lived his life as a peasant, and was lucky he found a kite with a rock at the end of it. and it was stormy and the lighting hit the rock and made light. The invention didn't become very popular so he reamined poor for many years.
He came up with many inventions over the years, and soon died from being hungry. After he died nobody found his body until they heard dogs eating him up.
