Dumbledore never tried to kill Voldemort because he always had a hope that Voldemort had good in him and that the good would eventually win. He believed that he was more likely to win the war and help Harry by doing good and not causing harm. If he attempted to kill Voldemort, then he would be no better than Voldemort.

Lord Voldemort, he is a very powerful wizard who uses spells most wizards wouldn't ever attempt.
he was the only person who ever survived the Avada Kadavra death curse, his family had been murdered by voldemort, and he vanquished voldemort then and there. why wouldn't he be respected?
If you mean Horcruxe, he was his normal self.He had lived as one of his Horcruxes ever since Voldemort had killed his parents. Though he still had a connection with Voldemort's mind, and his scar prickled, every time Voldemort was angry or hurt VERY badly when Voldemort was around. Hoped it helped!
