King William I (1027-1087) & King William II (1056-1100) of England were both Roman Catholic, however King William III of England and Ireland & William II of Scotland (1650-1702), referred to in Scotland and Northern Ireland as 'King Billy', was in fact Protestant. Born in The Hague* in the Netherlands, he was a member of the House of Orange-Nassau and a sovereign Prince of Orange. I hope this is the answer you were looking for.

*The Hague at the time of William's birth was in the predominantly protestant North of the Netherlands.
