Road vehicles were powered by steam for over one hundred years before the first petrol powered vehicle was produced by Karl Benz in 1885. The electric car also predates the gasoline powered version by 4 years. Until after 1900, there were more steam and electric cars than petrol powered cars.
probably in china, 500bc, toy powered by steam turbine
What was the first self-powered road vehicles? Self powered can mean many things. A horse and chariot is a "self powered vehicle" for example. Over 2,000 years ago. If self powered means it "generates it's own power", a sailboat qualifies. Probably over 1,000 years ago. Later vehicles that generate their own power include: First electric self powered car, about 1970 when photovoltaic panels were introduced. First electric self powered boats, about 1980. First electric self powered airplane, 2007. For a growing list of self powered electric vehicles, see http://www.selfpoweredelectricvehicles.com/
It depends on the fuel efficiency of your vehicle, your driving style and road conditions.
A road vehicle, typically with four wheels, powered by an internal combustion engine and able to carry a small number of people.
The first self-propelled road vehicle was a military tractor in 1769. It was invented by Nicolas Joseph Cugnot.
yes
In 1769, the very first self-propelled road vehicle was a military tractor invented by French engineer and mechanic, Nicolas Joseph Cugnot (1725 - 1804). Cugnot used a steam engine to power his vehicle, built under his instructions at the Paris Arsenal by mechanic Brezin. It was used by the French Army to haul artillery at a whopping speed of 2 1/2 mph on only three wheels. The vehicle had to stop every ten to fifteen minutes to build up steam power. The steam engine and boiler were separate from the rest of the vehicle and placed in the front. The following year (1770), Cugnot built a steam-powered tricycle that carried four passengers. It depends if you include steam-powered automobiles. In modern terms, a petrol-powered combustion engine was first created for an automobile by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach. Daimler went on to found Mercedes-Benz. somtimes it is also the model ford
Karl Benz invented first petrol engine in 1885. Considered the inventor of the modern day motor car.In 1885 Karl Benz, a German engineer, built the firstever car powered by gasoline (petrol). It had three wheels and seats for two people. It traveled at thirteen kilometers per hour. The car was built on a frame made of steel tubes and had a steering lever.More informationAlthough there were some inventions of automobile vehicles before, most of them were powered by steam. In 1771 Nicolas Cugnot produced what was probably the first self powered vehicle driven by steam. An Englishman, Richard Trevithick ran a steam car along a road in Cornwall, reaching at least 14 kilometers per hour.Maybe you heard Henry Ford was but Carl Benz generally is acknowledged as the inventor of the modern automobile. The gasoline engine is attributed to Nicolaus Otto who produced spark-ignited gas (i.e. gaseous fuel, not petrol) engines at his workd in Cologne, Germany.Gottlieb Daimler invented what is recognized as the of the modern gasoline engines in1885. It had a a vertical cylinder, and had gasoline injected through a carburetor (patented in 1887). Daimler also built a two-wheeled vehicle called the "Reitwagen" (Riding Carriage) with this engine and a year later built the world's first four-wheeled motor vehicle.im not sure, but it may have been Hugo bruinov spranski, i may have spealt it wrong hes Russian its not a well known fact but it was infact him!
The very first self-powered road vehicles were powered by steam engines and by that definition Nicolas Joseph Cugnot of France built the first automobile in 1769. Most history books say that the automobile was invented by either Gottlieb Daimler or Karl Benz? It is because both Daimler and Benz invented highly successful and practical gasoline-powered vehicles that ushered in the age of modern automobiles. Daimler and Benz invented cars that looked and worked like the cars we use today. However, it is unfair to say that either man invented "the" automobile. The vehicle Cugnot invented did not look or work like a modern automobile, but never the less it was a self-powered vehicle, and therefore an automobile, and it was the first.
Sand is thrown on the road to absorb fluids that might leak from a vehicle that may damage the environment or if left on the road may cause a further accident, such as oil being left could cause a vehicle to lose grip on the road and crash. Also there are more immediate risks such as fuel leakage like petrol, which is highly inflammable.

in 1860, Belgian Jean Joseph Etienne Lenior developed a gas powered engine that worked similar to a steam engine but with gasoline instead of steam. this was the first engine that was produced in large numbers
