yes, my name is rich Cummings I was stationed in eniwetok in 1978 and I,m im having problems getting medical records from my 8 month tour overthere.I am having some medical problems that some doctors believe come from being

exposedto radiation.the air force witch was in charge of monitoring radiation believed everyone was exposed simply because they admitted they were fairly new to this type of monitoring at that time.

The crusher produced aggregate for use in construction of the dome over Cactus Crater. There was not any safety equipment used during demolition or crushing activities (safety breathing equipment). The crushed coral was transported to the crater via 20 ton dump trucks. During the drive, the air and sun dried the coral and produced a fine dust. This was in the air on the hot end and the clear end of the island (Runnit) and again, there was not any safety breathing gear on the clear end of the island. Everyone did wear dosimeters and upon leaving the atoll, they were turned in to the USAF. Some of us left early due to a hurricane and serious illness in the family. Requirement was to fill a one gallon milk jug with urine prior to leaveing the atoll. Drink a couple of beers, pour some beer, whiskey, water and some urine in the container and then you could leave. Results of testing was quite inaccurate. How many rads did the troops receive? Who really knows? Always had tropical breezes. I had an xray done on me to check for radiation by a civilian doctor. Was the xray a good one, did it check properly, was there any amount of radiation at all? I was told I was fine. (Dr. Roach, ADENA Med Cntr.)
