It won't 'blow' your engine to run it without a thermostat. However, it could accelerate wear on the engine over the long term. Also, fuel economy and heater performance will generally deteriorate. Simply put, engines are designed to be run at a certain temperature. For this reason, it is always best to run an engine with the proper thermostat. If your engine is overheating, then the cause of the overheating should be found and addressed rather than trying a band-aid fix such as removing the thermostat.
You either are very low on coolant or the engine thermostat may be stuck open. Remove the thermostat and check it. These engines have a propensity to blow intake and head gaskets. Look for coolant in the crankcase as well. It will show up as a milky white oil.
engine not warm, low coolant, or stuck thermostat
Yes, running an engine with out oil will damage it.
It could be the thermostat on the engine. If the engine does not warm up adequately the heater will never blow hot air.
in most cases your engine thermostat is stuck oped not allowing your engine to warm up fully. a new thermostat and gasket is usually under $10.00
If you are talking about the thermostat in your engine, the two have nothing to do with eachother. If there is no air at all coming out the vents, I suggest it is your blower motor.
Most likely cause is a failed engine thermostat.
Sticking thermostat could cause this. If the thermostat is stuck open, it never gives the engine a chance to fully heat the coolant. Follow the top radiator hose to the engine, remove the hose and remove what it hooks to and there's your thermostat.
thermostat may be stuck open so engine doesn't get hot enough to blow warm air. Had the same problem on a Taurus once
No. The thermostat is not likely to be the cause.
Flush,Clean or change the heater core u need to replace engine thermostat
Does the truck get warm or hot engine temp.) If not or it takes a while then your thermostat is bad....cost like 10-25 buck for the t-stat. If the trucks engine doesn't get hot or warm in a quick time frame then your thermostat is bad.
