if you are in a car and no shelter is available, stop and lie down in a ditch. if you are in a home go to the basement or cellar.

If no basement is available go to a central room on the ground floor away from windows. A bathroom or closet often provides good shelter.

if you are in a tornado outside, try to run to the closest possible shelter, if there is no shelter (as a last resort) curl up in a ball on the ground and cover your head to protect it. if you are inside and there is a tornado, either get underneath a stable secure table or if you have a staircase with a room underneath, that is also a good place to go. make sure to save any pets from the tornado as well XD

also in places like Kansas and tornado alley alot of people have a tornado shelter which is like a room under ground with a heavy door so the tornado cant rip it off
