The fuel filter is in an incredibly inconvenient location just above a motor mount on the drivers' side of the engine. It's behind the stabilizer bar that goes from the engine block to the throttle body. If you're going to remove it, I'd recommend first removing the 17mm bolt on the top that attaches it to the hard line which goes to the fuel rail. Then remove the 14mm bolts which attach the filter bracket to the engine block. Then brace the now loose filter against a flat surface in the engine bay so you can remove the bottom 17mm bolt. Now you can remove the old filter from the bracket. Follow the above instructions in reverse to install. Be careful when installing not to bend the hard lines (I've made that mistake before, and it's not fun to fix), ie. Use a wrench on both sides and an assistant, if necessary.
......on the fuel line.......
The fuel filter on a 1989 Toyota Supra is located just below the fuel tank along the vehicle's frame. It is positioned inline and must be replaced periodically.
how to change filter
near the starter. need to reach from underneath vehicle.
Above the rear differential, behind fuel tank. --- Follow the fuel line and you will probably find the fuel filter on the firewall behind the motor. Educated guess on this one, havn't seen an 87 Supra in a long time
On Engine, drivers side, under intake. Very tough to replace. Bad Toyota!
by the starter. need to use lift, accesss from underneath car.
the fuel filter is above the gas tank. I have an 89 supra, had to replace fuel pump and filter. not very hard to do.
The fuel is going to be connected to the fuel line, first find the fuel line and follow it, and you should find be able to find the fuel filter.
The fuel pump on a 1980 Toyota Supra is located inside the gas tank. It can only be accessed by first removing the gas tank.
The filter is located directly above the rear differential. It is about ten inches in front of the gas tank. Well that's where it is on my 1987 turbo
It in the gas tank
