I'll take a long shot guess at this, but that appears to be the head casting number. Mine started with 970. My engine was the 2.0Liter 122cid 1900cc DOHC 4 cylinder engine, and i think its a Mitsubishi motor, if I'm not mistaken.
Where is located the f150 engine serial number stamped in the block
Get under the engine bay and uses a flashlight to find the VIN. The VIN stamp will vary from vehicle to vehicle, but will be mounted somewhere on the engine block. Some older vehicles will contain a serial number instead of a VIN. Match up the VIN from the engine block to the VIN on the vehicle. If the engine block has a serial number instead of a VIN then contact the manufacture dealer to see what serial number the original engine block had. .
your serial number is on the back of the engine block on the side facing the fire wall

It's imprinted on the engine block near the distributor just below the top of the block.
The engine serial number is on a metal plate attached to the block, typically found on the left-hand side of the engine. The position of the engine plate varies across different engine series. You can find the position of your plate using the table below. Engine Serial Number composition
Casting number is on the back, right hand side of the block just above the starter.
The serial number on the engine would also be the vehicle identification number. Keep in mind the engine may have been swapped out during the cars lifetime. The engine serial number is located over the water inlet on the driver's side of the engine block.

Hey mate what is your 7 digit casting number??????????????
This number isn't familier to me on the back of the block left side (drivers side) the serial # partial could read 010. On Chevrolet the engine code is usually on the pad behind the alternator right front of block.
the engine serial number is on the back of the block, behind the passenger side cylinder head. Not easy to access.
