Many Mayan tribes lived in the area now referred to as Central America. They were an advanced Native American civilization and the ruins of their temples and pyramids still remain. It is not quite clear to anthropologists and other science related fields the exact nature of this collapsed Mayan civilization. Many ideas have been put forth however none of them explain the complete picture of the Mayan decline.
