In North Dakota. It is now the Theodore Roosevelt National Park that is over 70,000 acres of badlands. The national park service operates the Elkhorn Ranch, the site of the Roosevelt ranch. This is near the historic town of Medora and has a wonderful visitor center with many of Roosevelt's personal items. Roosevelt first came to the badlands in Sept. of 1883 and became interested in the cattle business He joined two other men as partners in the Maltese Cross Ranch. The next year he returned and established the second open range ranch, the Elkhorn, as his own operation while staying with the Maltese. The Elkhorn became his main residence.
One thing he did was make a law that you had to put labels on the back of items showing what ingredients were in there.
