R-12 freon............
What type of freon does a 1993 cougar use
All cars manufactured after 1993 were required to use R134a refrigerant.
OEM refrigerant which came installed in 1993 was Freon R12. I suggest you convert it to R134a if it has not already been converted. R12 is far to expensive.
It came with R12 Freon. As R12 is cost prohibitive, have the unit converted to R134a refrigerant or a similar substitute.
if the a/c is empty it can hold 1.9 to 2.1 pounds of freon
The refrigerant capacity of a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier is 36 ounces of R-12 Freon. This is the same for all Cavaliers produced from 1986 to 1993.
All Vehicles produced Post-1993 are required to utilize Refrigerant R134a.
No. It uses r 134a refrigerant, an environmentally safe replacement for r 12 freon.
A 1993 Toyota 4Runner uses R12 refrigerant. The 1993 Toyota 4Runner requires 30 ounces of R12 for all engine types.
you will need a conversion kit to use r-134a refrigerant (i belive) but if it has lost refrigerant suddenbly then it likely sprung a leak somewhere have it tested and the leak repaired before recharging it.
The factory installed OEM refrigerant was R12 Freon. As Freon is extremely expensive and no longer in production, I suggest you have this vehicle converted to R134a. Seek help from a professional for the conversion and repair of the leak you must have or you wouldn't be adding refrigerant. You will be money ahead rather than just adding R12 to a leaking system which BTW is illegal.
