Well, it can't be Hanoi, because they really did conquer South Vietnam. Red China and North Korea DID fight the US in 1950 thru 1953 during the Korean War. But no one won that war, as far is territorial conquests is concerned. Korea was a knock down dragged out fight that amounted to a draw. It's not over, only a TRUCE was signed in 1953...it's called an ARMISTICE. Techically N & S Korea are still at war. The US/Allies "could" say they won the Korean War because the US/Allies stopped the North Koreans from conquering South Korea. That in itself is a victory. The Red Chinese/North Koreans "could" say they won the war because the US/Allies departed North Korea after they invaded it; abandoned the field so to speak. Korea was divided at the 38th Parallel before the war; and was divided at the same place after the war...it was a draw. But if the communists want to say they won, that's OK too; they're still separated at the 38th Parallel. It is not known if any other Asian nation has made such claims.
President LBJ did state on nation wide television "I will not send American boys to fight a war in Asia that should be fought by Asian boys."

He wasn't "against" it. He was a fraud and hypocrite who sought to harm Germany under cover of soothing words. He lied through his teeth, and treaty of Versailles is as much his handiwork as any one else's.
Depends what you lied about. If you lied about a murder, and they find out, you will get charged. If you lied about something meaningless like who robbed the grocery store, it probably won't even matter. It depends on the status of the investigator. If it is a law enforcement officer, ask Martha Stewart.
El Turco of course
Elfen Lied is depressing because so few of the characters persevere against their fate .
We need to know what is said is the truth and the way to do that is to fact check. President’s have lied about events to get the country into wars and Nixon lied about his sending men to break into the Democratic headquarters in the Watergate building. This was against the law. Without fact checking and the free press people in power can get away with doing things against the common good of the people.
I'd Lie - Taylor Swift
Most states have a crime such as filing a false report. If it is established that she intentionally lied to the police, the district attorney may choose to charge her, or you may choose to file a civil action against her, or both.

The past tense of 'lies' is 'lied'.
You can say "Tu as menti" in French, which means "you lied."
You have to be very careful with something like this. You must give reasons behind why you lied. If you were to outright say that you had lied and that this is the truth they will turn it against you and insinuate that you were lying about other things related to this case. Tell them why you lied. Was it because you were afraid he wouldn't be taken seriously and thus get let out and hurt you again? Did you lie because you were afraid of telling the truth? You have to clearly and consciously identify why you lied and let the court know that. Otherwise, you could lose the case. Always support your answers.
