You must have a fast processor. You must have atleast 1 GB Graphics Card. If you do not have Graphics card gaming will not be good. And RAM must be atleast 2GB. Then gaming will be fast.

Most games now a days do require a pretty nice rig to play and it really depends on what type of games you are playing and what type of video card you have to determine what type of CPU you should get. If you're going all out I would advise you to go with an Intel i7, if you're going to have to stay within a budget there's nothing wrong with getting a Core 2 Duo, these are both nice and fast CPUs.
