If you are referring to Hernan Cortés' army, that defeated the Aztec empire, they were (when they arrived to Yucatan for the first time) about 600 men, 16 horses and 14 cannons. Some time after this arrival, a new group of Spanish soldiers with orders from Cuba´s Governor to capture Cortes, arrived. After being defeated by Cortes and their leader executed, these men joined Cortes' army. Francisco Pirazzo had 110 foot men 67 cavalry and one small cannon. He tricked the Incas into thinking he was letting the Sapa Inca go when really he was planning another ambush.
