It also can involve identifying situations that are mentally draining without reward, harmful relationships, and solving financial problems. Body: Physical health is very important to the health of any organism. Focusing on physical health means concentrating on getting adequate exercise, sleeping enough every night, eating healthy foods, and maintaining an ideal weight. Environmental health is also crucial to physical health. Drinking clean water, breathing clean air, and creating a tranquil home environment are very important to maintaining good health from a holistic standpoint. Spirit: The third and final major component of holistic health is spiritual health. Good spiritual health does not necessarily mean the practicing of a religion, but it has been shown that meditation, emphasizing feelings of gratitude, yoga, or even appreciating nature all have important positive spiritual and emotional benefits. Also important to spiritual health is social health, participating in activities that give a sense of community ties, spending time with friends and family, or intimate relationships.
