A cinder cone volcano....found in my 8th grade science book page 136(:
It's a shield volcano. Curtesy of a quick google search [from geography.learnontheinternet.co.uk] Shield Volcanoes Eruptions are typically non-explosive. Shield volcanoes produce fast flowing fluid [lava] that can flow for many miles. Eruptions tend to be frequent but relatively gentle.
A volcano known as an 'Icelandic volcano' is characterised by fissure eruptions, occurring on constructive plate boundaries, where two plates are moving apart and magma rises up in the gap making a plateau of rock intead of the more frequently associated cone shaped volcano. These volcanic eruptions are gentle but are persistant and constant.
Some are, but not all. It depends on the height to which they grow after many eruptions. Some volcanoes are only hills with gentle slopes.Technically yes it's a type of mountain but most say no
It's because of the silica content. Some with high silica are explosive and violent. The ones with lower silica are gentle, and leak out. (might have it backwards. need to brush up on my volcano facts)
Because it all depends on what type of volcano it is, if it is a shield volcano low and flat it's eruptions will be gentle. But if it is a cone volcano tall and steep it's eruptions will be very violent.
It's a shield volcano because of its frequent gentle eruptions

Shield volcanoes produce fast flowing lava. They erupt frequently, but eruptions are gentle because the lava is so thin and does not trap gas in the volcano.
A shield volcano has very broad, gentle slopes.
If you're doing the volcano crossword it's a shield volcano. :]
