I would try one of the simple MP3 players, like an iPod Nano. Of course, I am assuming that you would copy the ebook onto the Nano for him/her, as most 87-year old dyslexics are not terribly computer-savvy.
If that's not the case, I would recommend a simple CD player to play audiobooks on CD, that can be borrowed from most libraries.

Audio books are often available online, with free downloads. This is a great way to check out some of the new works of your favorite authors or discover new authors you have never read. The world of audio books has certainly changed from the 1980s. With the technology now available to download these free audio books onto an MP3 player or an iPod, or even your home computer, this section of the publishing business has grown by leaps and bounds. There are a few sites where you can download free audio books, including some of the larger booksellers such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, and Audible.com.

Are you going on a long trip? Consider getting some free audio books online before you start up the car. These books can keep everyone in the car occupied, and are easy to get. Audio books can be obtained both online and at your local library. If you are getting the books from your local library, always check the return dates and the fees on overdue payments. Some libraries have short periods for returning these. This still may be a good option if you are able to renew them. If you are able to get online, you should check out the extensive audio book collection that is available on the World Wide Web. While some audio books do cost money, there are a wide selection available for you for free. Who doesn't like listening to a good book on a long trip?

very slim, I never heard of another dyslexic engineer other then myself. The only way I got here though was through a lot of sweat, study, pain, hardship, extreme study sessions, and friends along the way to help you when you're down. In the real world you won't be alone like on an exam. So you always have time to double check your work which is Ideal for a dyslexic
If it is compatible with your pc's audio system, then it should be OK to use for World of Warcraft. WoW does not need any special type of audio system to work, it just uses your systems audio device.
