If it has manufactured spec brakes it takes dot 3 brake fluid.
The abs uses the brake fluid from the regular brake master cylinder.
The brake fluid on a 2003 Avalanche goes into the fluid reservoir. The reservoir should be bolted onto the drivers side of the firewall.
there is one at every wheel

I'm assuming that your problem is that your ABS and or brake light is on in your Ram 1500? If that's the case you may have a problem with your ABS or your brake system as a whole. Check your brake fluid (being careful not to touch it with your bare hands, brake fluid is toxic), if it's low, get it filled. If the brake fluid isn't the problem, take your Ram to a mechanic and have the brakes inspected. You'll want to do this sooner rather than later as your brakes are obviously a critical component of your vehicle. check the sensor on the rear differential, I had the same problem, it takes about 15 minutes to install
If the parking brake pedal on your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 is stuck to the floor, you might have broken the parking brake cable. Remove the rear tires to see if the cable is still attached and replace it as needed.
If you are not losing brake fluid I would say the master cylinder is bad. Can you tell what direction the occasional noise is coming from?
Depends if it has the auto 4wd feature
= What is the automatic transmission fluid capacity for a 1994 Chevrolet 1500 pickup? =
Worn brake pads can cause the brake light to blink on the dash in a 1993 GMC Sierra 1500. This can also be caused by a faulty light.
The 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 transmission has a fluid capacity of 8.3 quarts. You can check the transmission fluid level with the transmission fluid dipstick.
A 2004 Ram 1500 uses ATF+4 transmission fluid only.
