You need an ohmmeter or multimeter (set in resistance measurement mode). Choose the 1kOhm range. Connect the meter's wires (red & black) each to the diode's terminals, then switch the terminals. In one case you should see a meter reading that is substantially lower than the other. If that is not the case (both read high or both read low), the diode is probably faulty.
A current transformer has to have the same ratio as the meter that it drives. Full scale deflection on the meter is 5 amps which equals the maximum allowed current on the phase that it is reading. A different ratio on the CT to meter would show an erroneous reading on the meter depending on the ratio of the connected CT. To keep costs down the meter is common to all three phases and is read by connecting the meter to the phase CT through a three position switch.

The contacts open or close but only pass through whatever is connected to those terminals. <<>> When a relay coil is energized the relay's contact change status. The closed set of contacts will open. The 120 volt circuit that is connected will turn off. As to the voltage at the contact terminals, it depends on where you are taking the voltage reading from and to. On the source side of the terminal there will be a reading of 120 volts to neutral or ground. On the other side of the contact terminal there will be zero volts to the neutral or ground. This is because that wire is in series with the load to neutral. A meter reading across the relay terminals will read 120 volts.
Usually nothing. (You would not get a reading either) The other way around (connected to measure current but set on voltage reading) will burn a fuse or the device entirely. On my Fluke 23 it will blow the fuse.
Best way would probably be to use a multimeter or voltmeter. Turn the meter on to volts DC and connect the probes to the battery terminals, if the voltage is shown as a negative, then switch the meter's probes around at the battery end so it shows the voltage as a positive reading on the meter. Mark the positive and negative terminals on the battery after this. Some car batteries have the negative terminal as the small post, but on some as the big post.
There are 3 terminals of an Earth Tester meter. Connect two terminals of meter to earth as far as cables can. Fix the two rods in to soil with the help of a small Hammer. Then connect two knobs of the meter with these rods.Connect the third terminal to the Earth Pit,to whom earth resistance is to be measured. You can get a meter reading by looking at the BIG circle thing that does be outside of the house and it will say 88888 and then say another number which is the meter reading.

Turn on the voltmeter and attach a probe to different terminals on each component for a reading. What you do with the results is up to you if you are a heater tech. If you do not know how to use a voltmeter - you are already in trouble.

If you are referring to using a volt meter then you will just get a negative reading on most modern digital meters. If you are using an old analogue meter you may get no reading.

Replacing battery terminals??? How did you accomplish that. Do you mean you replaced the battery or are you referring to the battery cables? If you replaced the cables are you sure you have them connected correcty and tight. Especially the ground connection. Take a reading with an ohm meter from the neg battery post to the engine or chassis. If the circuit is open, you have a bad connection.
