Watercress: A study published in the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention journal, Preventing Chronic Disease, has named watercress as one of the healthiest vegetables you can eat.
The leafy green, which costs very little in supermarkets, scored full marks on a test of 17 different critical nutrients.
Scores were based on how nutrient-dense each food was, as well as their potential to protect against chronic diseases such as cancer and Heart disease.
Watercress is high in vitamin K, vitamin C and vitamin A.
