"Method" Acting refers to what was called "The Method", a set of rehearsal techniques beginning in Russian Theater in the early 20th century and popularized in the New York acting community by Marlon Brando, Lee Strausberg, Stella Adler, James Dean and many others. It is a system of work developed by Constantin Stanislavski, a Russian theater director and actor which uses the actor's own life experience to bring a reality to the work which was missing from the presentational acting style of the day. All modern acting techniques are based on "the Method", and Stanislavski's books are still used in conservatories and theater programs.
Its the WAY you act. Everyone who acts has a different style of acting. Not evyone does it the same.
A melodramatic style of acting is over the top, it's exaggerated portrayal of emotions and body language
Action acting is just a form of acting that can be used for any acting style such as a drama or comedy.

Declamatory acting was the common style of performance by actors before the late 18th century. In the declamatory style the emotions were expressed through incredibly grand movement and oratory projection.
