the minimum working age to work at dairy queen is 15. but to be a cook, you have to be 18. and i don't believe that you can work the ice cream machines until you are 16 but I'm not 100% sure.

How old is the person getting paid? If they are younger than the legal age to work in your state, then the franchise is not entitled to paying them full minimum wage. However, if this person IS the legal age or older, then I would take it up with the Dairy Queen Headquarters in your region, or contact the Labor Board.
Child labor laws prevents a business from hiring a person under the age of 16. Actually, I am 14 and work at dairy queen. You can work at a lot of fast food places. You can also work at a grocery store.
