Unless you have a donor car that you can remove the necessary parts from this is a bad idea. The cost involved would be prohibitive. Sell this 1996 Prizm and then buy a manual one. There are many good manual transmission Prizm's and it's twin Toyota Corolla's out there. Your A/T equipped Prizm is worth more than the same car with a manual. Going from a A/T to a manual is almost always a bad idea. Going from manual to auto is a much easier conversion.
To change an automatic galant to a 5-speed, you need a Computer for the Manual transmission of that year, and an engine.
Swapping a automatic to a 5 speed is a lot of work. You would have to change out all the gears and belts.
The speed sensor on a 2000 Olds Bravada Smartrak is on the top of the automatic transfer case. To change it you need to disconnect the two wires and replace with a new sensor.
Its a non interferance engine and they rarely need to be changed
inside the radiator, but you need to change when the radiator is to hot.ok.

A parts car like yours with an automatic transmission.
What he invented was a programmable automatic loom. This eliminated the need for a person to change the threads to create patterns and greatly increased the speed of production for patterned textiles.
The easiest way to convert your car to automatic is to get a automatic parts car or swap your automatic parts with someone looking to switch to a 5 speed. The swap is not all that difficult you will need to change the pedal assy. or just leave the stock pedals there and disable the clutch pedal. Install a automatic shifter as well as replace the computer with a auto computer. Ther are many websites like corral.net as well as mustang parts suppliers where you can get everything you need as well as info.
I need to know the same thing but for those who tag it as adding transmission fluid, you're wrong. The automatic has a separate differential with its own fluid.
Yes you can remove a manual transmission and replace it with an automatic. You will need to buy an aftermarket shifter kit of find a shifter for your vehicle from a junk yard. You will also either have to remove the clutch pedal or replace the pedal assembly
The short answer is no, this is not possible without significant modifacation. The 4 speed automatic that is used in the later trackers is a computer controlled automatic whereas the earlier 3 speed is a more traditional purely mechanical automatic. In a nutshll, I believe that the bell housings have the same bolt patterns but the bracing and mounts for the 4 speed are more involved and the computer controller box for the 4 speed would need to be installed and integrated into the vehicles ECU (main computer). Theoretically it may be possible to make these modifications to a 96/97 tracker (a pre 95 is more doubtful) but it is not a practical undertaking.Older Answer -----------------------------------------------Hi, This isn't an answer but a further asking on this. I haven't been able to find this out either and I also need to know this as I have the 3 spd and a '97 and I would like to change my trans as I have a torque converter problem and need to swap out. I hope someone knows this. Steve H.
