What are the advantages of digital signal processor processors over conventional microprocessors?

the architeecture of dsp processors supports fast processing arrays and it allows parallel execution. it has separate program and data memories.

What technology allows each logical processor within the processor package to handle an individual thread in parallel with other threads being handled by other processors within the package?

Intel has HyperThreading, and AMD uses HyperTransport, so the logical processor can run threads in parallel with other processors in the chipset. (see A+ 220-701).

Is a processor is fixed to motherboard?

No, a processor is not fixed to the motherboard. Most modern processors are designed to be easily removable and replaceable using a socket on the motherboard. This allows for easy upgrades or replacements without replacing the entire motherboard.

What does installing more than one processor on a motherboard do?

In order to install extra processors on a motherboard, the motherboard must be designed to allow that. If you have such a motherboard, you probably already have the extra processors. (Such motherboards are typically only encountered in servers.)Anyway, extra processors allow multi-threaded operating systems to allocate more than one processor at a time, which effectively allows it to run more than one thread at a time. This can increase performance, but it depends on the program's design. Most modern processors are already multi-core types so, even if you have only one processor, you can probably still take advantage of true multi-threading.

What are cores on micro processors?

The "core" in a processor is the microprocessor inside of the CPU(Central Processing Unit). For example, if you have a Dual Core CPU then you have 2 microprocessors inside of the CPU, this allows you to do two things at once, as a microprocessor can only do one thing at a time the only exception to this is Multi-Threading which allows one core to do the work of multiple cores, but its not as fast as having multiple cores.

What is the multi threading in computer processors?

Multi threading on modern computers enables the processor to handle multiple tasks at once. This effect allows the computer to perform faster, as tasks do not have to wait as long to be completed.

How do you compare the processors of Intel and AMD?

Intel Processor Comparison depends on your Ram and hard disk storage. It also allows you to browse the internet, chat online, share and edit photos and videos, online games, and much more

What is special high speed memory that allows the processor to access data more rapidly than from memory located elsewhere on the system board?

cache memory

Can you replace an amd turion 64 mobile processor with an amd turion 64 x2 mobile proceessor?

It depends if they have the same socket or not, which they usually don't. It also depends if your motherboard supports it or not. Check the manual and it should have a list of supported processors and speeds. This also depends if your laptop allows you to change the processor. Some are soldered on.

What is meant when referring to a quad core computer?

A quad core computer is a computer with four cores as its processor. This means that it has four central processing units (CPUs), which allows it to run faster and allow for parallel computing.

What software allows users to create and manipulate?

Practically all software allows you to create and manipulate things. Word processors allow you to create and manipulate documents. Excel allows you to create and manipulate spreadsheets. Powerpoint allows you create and manipulate slide shows. Access allows you create and manipulate databases. There is a huge range of other software that allows you to create and manipulate things.

Pentium 4 or Pentium 4 HT?

The Pentium 4 and Pentium 4 HT differ only in the "HT" designation, which means "Hyper-Threading". Hyper-Threading allows one physical processor to represent itself as two "logical" processors to the computer, doubling the amount of tasks the computer can work on. It effectively allows you to have a dual-core processor while only paying for a single-core. Get the Pentium 4 HT!
