What is an amplifies?

A device used to make an instrament louder, usually an electric guitar. Sound signals have a certain amplitude behind them (power). If the signal is week, it is difficult to hear and transmit. Therefore, you need an amplifier to add power to a signal in order for it to be heard and transmitted.

What does a preamplifier do?

A pre-amp is a type of amplifier used in sound systems. It usually amplifies the signals coming from microphones or low amplitude signals coming from any other sources. The pre-amplified signals can then be amplified to a greater extent when the signals are sent to the main amplifier. Because some microphones are low voltage or are wireless the signals are weak compared to older style microphones.

What device modulates outgoing signals and demodulates incoming signals?

To receive a Satellite signal, you need a LNB which is attached to your satellite dish--The LNB and dish is determined by which satellite TV service you have--either Dish Network or DirecTV. The satellite dish is pointed in a particular direction to pick up the correct satellite orbiting the sky. You will also need a satellite receiver, which is "wired" to the LNB and also is attached to your television.

What does an amplifier do to a small input signal?

amplifier will strengthen da small input signal n amplifies it

What is the function of a earth wire in transmission line?

The earth conductor is not normally used for communications, but the line conductors frequently are. Often 'communications' has nothing to do with telephone conversations, but more to do with data transmission - usually related to protective systems for the lines themselves. To prevent these communications signals from straying to other parts of the electrical transmission/distribution network, the ends of the conductors used for this purpose are fitted with inductors which offer a high impedance to the high-frequency communications signals, effectively blocking the signals from going further into the network.

How does a cordless phone receive its signals?

Cordless phone amplifies signals to and from phone-line interface, user controls and speaker phone. It broadcasts and receives radio signals to and from the handset.

What amplifies sound waves by as much as 20 times their original intensity?

A microphone and an amplifier with a loudspeaker does this. The microphone converts the soundpressure to electric signals. The amplifier amplifies these signals and the loudspeaker converts back the electric signals to sound pressure. Our ear drums are moved by the sound pressure as a sound field quantity. It is not the sound intensity as an energy quantity.

What are the difference between Erbrium doped fiber amplifier and semi-conductor amplifier?

A doped fiber amplifier amplifies light in the fiber as a LASER.A semiconductor amplifier is an electronic circuit that amplifies electrical signals.

Which network device regenerates the data signal without segmenting the network?

The network device that regenerates data signals without segmenting the network is a repeater. Repeaters are used to prevent attenuation of signals.

What amplifies low frequency signals?

An amplifier! Amplifiers are designed for particular band-widths from fractional-Hz, and even d.c., upwards, but that band can be very wide.

What would one use a cell phone amplifier for?

It amplifies the incoming and outgoing signals. This would be used by someone who lived in an area where cell phone reception was poor.
