I think it is a deer (many different species). In Scotland, deer fences round shooting estates are very high, otherwise the deer would simply jump over a lower fence and escape the estate. A kangaroo (herbivore) has no need to jump vertically, but horizontally to escape when chased by carnivores. A lion can jump quite high, but compared to a leopard taunting him or her from branches high in a tree, the lion has no chance! As to a giraffe, they are not noted for jumping at all, but would use their long legs to run to escape from predators. Predators, usually lions, would do well to avoid the powerful kick from a giraffe's hooves.
