My son is allergic to amoxicillin, but he can take azithromycin (Zithromax) with no problem. The nice thing about azithromycin is you take a double dose the first day, then a regular dose for the next 4, so you're taking medicine for only 5 days instead of the usual 7-10.
The thing is, each antibiotic tends to treat certain parts of your body quite well, and other parts poorly.
Your doctor might decide to treat a lung infection, say, with amoxycillin if she could not prescribe levaquin.
There are many other antibiotics, which can be taken, when you are allergic to amoxicillin. Your physician will prescribe the same to you.
Spectracef?
Clindamycin
yes. bactrim is just a antibotic.it is safe to take almost anything with this drug.
Yes. Clindamycin is not a penicillin-like antibiotic, so it may be used if allergic to penicillin. However, this does not mean you cannot be allergic to this drug also.
Im allergic to bactrim and ceclor im not sure if it is because of the same thing in them or not but yeah.
Hello Bactrim contains sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. Both antibiotics treat different types of bacterial infections.Bactrim is used to treat infections such as urinary tract infection. Amoxycillin is generally prescribed for the chest infections. You can take bactrim & amoxicillin together. There is no drug interaction between them. This will not harm you.Its safe to take them together. Hope this helped.
I would talk with your doctor, but my Grandma could not!No, amoxicillin is an antibiotic in the penicillin category. You'll have the same "allergic" effect than if you were taking penicillin V, as an example.
Yes, you can. The decongestant in Sudafed does not react with Bactrim antibiotics. Remember to take all of your Bactrim even after you start feeling better. You want to kill all the bacteria and not leave any hiding in your body!
Yes as per infection antibiotics can b mixed. Take as directed
An IUD is a choice of birth control.... I dont think you take antibiotics for birth control... you take antibiotics for infections.
Yes you can take metronidazole if allergic to Azithromycin. The drugs that you should be concerned with are Erythromycin, and Biaxin (Clarithromycin) because they are also macrolide antibiotics.
No, you cannot take it. Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic PCN(penicillin) and share the same structure thus will cause an allergic reaction.
if allergic to erythromycin can you take amoxicillin
There is no reason that her weight would prevent her from taking 500mg of amoxicillin. However, i get the impression that they were not prescribed for her, as a single dose would not be prescribed by a doctor, as it would be useless. I would advise that she go see a doctor to see if she needs a FULL COURSE of antibiotics, and be careful as she may be allergic to penicillin.
