Looked up in my manual because I couldn't find the answer on Google - What?! It's telling you front break pads need to be checked. (So maybe need new pads or break fluid). Hope that helps.
TPMS Tire Pressure warning
The tire pressure warning light on a 2008 VW Jetta City , parenthesis enclosing an exclamation point, can be reset once the pressure is restored. Press the set button on the dashboard.
Front disk breaks pads need replaced.
It's the TPMS warning light. "Tire pressure monitoring system"
It means warning. Check your owners manual first. Usually its Brakes or Brake fluid.
Do the work inside the parenthesis first.

Maybe its a low tire pressure warning. Check inside the owners manual it will tell you what the intrumens cluster is about
It's your low air pressure warning light, check your tires pressure.
