There are at least 2 ways in which a plant's stem system can help a plant to survive in it's environment. It both helps keep water in the plant and hold the plant upright for example.

Stems offer protection to the leaves by lifting them off of the ground so that they are difficult for animals to eat. Stems may have bark (or thorns) which protects the plant from predators. The stem encloses the vascular tissues that transport water and minerals within the plant.

There are many ways that behaviors help animals to survive. Aggressive behaviors for example help animals to protect their territory and their young.
well, plants, mainly trees, give off oxygen. and without oxygen, we wouldn't be able to survive. and they are also the base of the food chain.
just give them lot's of water and food ( like bamboo) :)
